Product Types:
Handspun yarns, Handwoven wool rugs, Handwoven cotton rugs, Handknit items About Us I have been spinning and weaving for over 30 years and have operated Two Cedars Weaving from my home studio since 1988. I keep a few fiber animals (llamas and angora goats) and acquire additional fleeces from other Iowa-raised fiber animals (sheep, llama, alpaca, dog). I spin these fibers into yarn for sale as well as for use in knitted items of apparel (hats, mittens, scarves etc). I send some fleeces to a small mill in Wisconsin to be custom spun and use those yarns in my hand knit items. I also weave cotton and wool rugs on two and four harness floor looms. I am mostly marketing through my etsy store: twocedarsweaving Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients Hand-spun yarns: wool, mohair, llama, alpaca, dog fibers from animals I raise or other Iowa fiber producers. Hand-knit items: same as above and some mill spun yarns from Iowa fibers processed at a small mill in Wisconsin. Handwoven wool rugs: cotton rug warp and commercial wool yarns (not all Iowa sourced). Some of the wool yarns are hand dyed by me using fiber reactive dyes. Handwoven cotton rugs: cotton rug warp and mill end cotton fabrics (not Iowa sourced). Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) All of my products are hand made by me in my home studio using natural fibers. The animals I raise are pastured in the summer and fed grain and hay in the winter and are treated like pets all year round. We shear the llamas once a year in the spring or early summer. Angora goats are sheared in the spring and the fall. Additional Information Scheduled visits to my studio are welcome. Contact me for yarn samples/color swatches or to place a custom order. |
